To say Dressel’s medal record is impressive would be an understatement. At the 2013 FINA World Junior Championships, he won a total of 6 medals (1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze) and broke the 100m freestyle record. Since 2013, Dressel has won a record-breaking 15 World Championship medal becoming the only swimmer in history with 8 of his 15 medals from a single World Championship tournament. He has 5 Pan Pacific Championship medals and 9 World Swimming Championships medals, according to FINA. In addition, he currently holds the world records in the 100m butterfly (both long course and short course), 50m freestyle (short course), and 100m individual medley (short course).

He also holds the national records in 50m and 100m freestyle and in 50-meter and 100-meter butterfly (all long course). He holds the short course records in 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events, the 100-yard butterfly, and the 200-yard individual medley.
