Natalia Strelchenko: A Former Piano Prodigy of Russian Origin

Natalia Strelchenko was of Russian origin and was a concert pianist. She was born on 23rd December 1976. Natalia played her first concert when she was only 12 with the Leningrad symphony orchestra. She had her education at St. Petersburg State Conservatory, and also went to the Norwegian Academy of Music situated in Oslo.

Personal Life & Achievements Of Natalia Strelchenko

For almost six years from 1995 to 2000, Natalia worked as a teacher at Saint Petersburg Conservatory. At the Norwegian Academy of Music, she held a research fellowship. This fellowship began in 2017 and was there until 2010. In 2008, she was an artist in residence at Leeds College of Music. From NMH itself, she got her PhD for her thesis: Stile Brillante: The piano technique in historical perspective in 2011.

She has played at many venues such as Carnegie Hall and Wigmore Hall. Piano playing was considered virtuosic. She was not only an assistant professor at Belfort but also the director of Menestrelles International Chamber Music Academy.

Her death

It was on 30th August 2015 when Natalia Strelchenko died. Many police officers arrived at her home, and they found her dead. According to the post mortem, the reason for death came out to be head and neck injuries. Martin, her husband, was declared her murderer. He got the punishment of life imprisonment.
