Yathaarth Murthy decided to start a campaign to revive the lake with his five classmates, who had the same mindset. Yathaarth says that it was a herculean task, and they were happy to partner with the Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar. They got expert advice from the lake revival expert Anand Malligavad.

Yathaarth’s Aim To Revive The Lake

Inspired by an initiative held by the United Nations in their school, Yathaarth took upon this project with some of his friends. This project is named the WFUNA (World Federation of United Nations Association) Mission Possible program. It aims to help students take projects based on any Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Before the campaign, the lake was full of brush, grass, and soil and did not look anything like a lake at all. A huge amount of work and effort was required to bring it back as before. Yathaarth was taking this small step to solving the water scarcity problem in Bangalore. Their plan was to filter the water and make the lake clean. They also planned to install various materials to make sure that the solution is sustainable. To ensure sustainability, the children made sure that Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are followed.
