A Writer Is a Dreamer Who Embraces His Imperfections Perfectly
An omnilegent since the age of 3, Adora Svitak was born on October 15, 1997, in Springfield, Oregon. A former child prodigy with excellent communication skills, she is an American writer, an activist, and now working with Wikimedia foundation as a communications associate. He was born to Joyce, a Chinese immigrant, and John, who worked as a software engineer.
You will be awestruck after knowing that she was having one of the adequate verbal abilities by the age of 5, which could match that of young adults over twice her age. Her parents got her first laptop when she was just four. She stood out of the crowd when she typed out 250,000 words in only one year.
Adora was a Writer, Teacher, and activist by the age of fifteen. She was considered a tiny, literary giant. She organized the annual TEDx, independently TED event with an all-youth planning committee from 2010 to 2013. According to her, there can only be a decisive shift in the system and future of education if underutilized resources will be utilized in the most effective and corrective manner.
Adora reinstated that one’s voice is an essential tool. Your voice represents you, and one should raise it whenever and wherever required or needed. She also added that how kids prioritize their issues and are willing to fix them. It is important to note that progress is only with making decisions.
(Phase of Writing and Journalism)
Adora worked on her first full-length novel for almost six years. Her first novel, Yang in Disguise, was published on March 14, 2011. She then got an opportunity to serve as a spokesperson for Verizon Reads for Literacy. On April 30, 2008, her second book, Dancing Fingers, was published, for which she got help from her elder sister Adrianna. She was more into the news for other prominent works, including Poems that contributed to the Redmond Centennial Poetry Anthology in 2012, blogging at Edutopia and Mashable, and many more.
Adora strongly believes that we cannot solve old problems with old processes; instead, we need a fresh and upgraded mind. She struggled to give a safer speech but ended up getting a standing ovation after her first speech. She knows that a child’s imagination knows no boundary when coping with static adult problems.
Adora has won many prestigious awards. She got an award for outstanding service to public education by the National Education Association Foundation. Svitak was also named a Three Dot Dash Global Teen Leader by the New York City-based We Are Family Foundation to organize and engage in TEDxRedmond and raise awareness for the United Nations World Food Programme. In 2013, she participated in a leadership summit in New York City and many more.
