Deepangana Verma: Painting Change with Every Stroke

In the colorful lanes of Karnal, Haryana, a young artist named Deepangana is proving that art is more than just beauty—it is a voice, a movement, and a call for change. With her talent in Mandala, Madhubani, and Calligraphy, she has woven together tradition and purpose, creating works that inspire both reflection and action.

Her journey began with simple doodles, but over time those playful lines blossomed into a deep connection with indigenous art forms. Through Madhubani, she discovered storytelling; in Mandala, she found patience and peace; and in Warli, she learned the essence of community and humanity’s bond with nature. For her, art is not just technique—it is a mirror of values and a reminder of heritage.

As she grew, her paintings began to carry powerful messages. Themes of conservation, climate awareness, and cultural pride filled her canvases, reflecting her belief that art can spark dialogue and action. Whether creating posters or crafting intricate designs, her focus has always been on making her creativity meaningful.

This desire to inspire led her to co-found the Artivist Foundation, a platform where young voices meet traditional art. Through Project Kalashakti, she has introduced children to indigenous art forms while nurturing awareness about the environment. Her workshops are more than lessons in drawing; they are opportunities for self-expression, confidence, and advocacy. Moments like seeing a child depict the loss of a village tree reaffirm her belief that art can heal and empower.

Looking forward, Deepangana dreams of expanding her foundation to reach more young people across India, encouraging them to see art as a tool for transformation.
