Dhwani Rajwi: Reaching for the Stars with Science and Stories

Curiosity is the spark that drives discovery, and Dhwani Rajwi has turned that spark into a shining journey of learning. From the depths of literature to the mysteries of the universe, her path is a rare blend of science and creativity.

Her passion for space led her to an extraordinary achievement. While studying celestial data, Dhwani made a preliminary detection of a main belt asteroid, now recorded as 2022 BC 27. This recognition as a young citizen scientist reflects her dedication, patience, and sharp observational skills. She continues her journey with the American Association for Variable Star Observers, where she contributes to exoplanet research by generating light curves of possible transits.

But Dhwani’s brilliance does not stop at science. She is also a passionate writer and reader. With over 250 novels read and 40 original stories written, she explores the human experience with the same depth she brings to science. Her love for words earned her a bronze medal in the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, showcasing her voice on a global stage.

What makes Dhwani’s journey even more inspiring is her compassion. As a volunteer with Hidden Voice, she reads stories for the visually impaired, ensuring that literature and imagination reach every heart. She reminds us that knowledge is most meaningful when it is shared.

Her recognition as a national finalist for the C.V. Raman Young Science Innovator Award and her school honors underline her consistent pursuit of excellence.

Looking ahead, Dhwani dreams of uniting science and storytelling—exploring new worlds in the sky while creating new worlds on paper.
