Art expresses even those things that words cannot explain. Dylan Scott Pierce proves it by his paintings. Dylan Scott Pierce is an American artist whose drawings are the reflection of his observations.
He was showing his artistic potential since he was a child. According to his mother, Sandy Pierce, “I knew when Dylan was three-years-old that he was artistic.” In his teenage, he loves football, rollerblading, reading, and mountain biking. Despite all this, he is also an “Art Prodigy.” His mother has once said in an interview about an incident. When Dylan was nine years old, he has an art competition with her mother, and he won.
When he was nine years old, He began to sell his first sketches. He sells a portrait of peoples at the shopping mall or grocery stores. In that year, he won his first prize at an art festival held in Atlanta, Georgia. During this time, the family was living there. Then they moved to Florida. Since the age of 12, he had participated in many groups and solo exhibitions around the country.
He decided to specialize in wildlife art when he was ten years old. According to him, “ Animals are Unbelievably interesting to paint because they have so much personality. As I observe them, I believe I can almost see what they are thinking.”
He started taking photographs at Zoo. Then he would paint the animals by looking back at his pictures and journal notes. He even got permission at the US zoo to go behind the scenes to study animals closely.
Then he decided to give up on zoos and go for the real things. He first visited the national park of South Africa and had many new experiences. There he observed wildlife and landscapes very closely. His work has improved after visiting South Africa and observing the wildlife and landscapes with his eyes.
Dylan Scott Pierce established the “Dylan Scott Pierce Foundation” in January. This foundation aims to help animals that Dylan has observed closely. The foundation ensures that a portion of money from selling its licensed images on household items will go towards wildlife conservation and preservation.
He had his name on many awards. He won many awards, and in many competitions, he was one of the finalists. ACHievements he had are:
Currently, he lives in Atlanta, where he had studied at Chris diDomizio’s artwork for ten years.
