‘You outdo yourself simply by following your passion.’
India is having a pool of child prodigies. Be it in the field of education, dance, or musical artists. Indians have stunned the global world with their extraordinary skills. Can you imagine a child who was just seven years old, left behind 25,000 artworks? Edmund Thomas Clint was born to Late M.T. Joseph and Chinnamma Joseph and was named after veteran Hollywood actor Clint Eastwood.
He was born on 19th May 1983 in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. He was fond of painting Hindu Festivals and formal events. Edmund made 25,000 art pieces in just seven years of his life journey, which takes many years of training and polishing to draw such paintings. His work outshined in exhibitions in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, in 1995 and 2007. Also, he marked first place for himself in the competition held for painters below 18 at the age of 5.
He was a keen observer and used to see things with entirely different visions. Thomas used to observe and paint parallelly. He was known for recreating and recollecting his paintings. Edmund tried to portray each and everything he came across in his short span of life.
He was just one year old when he started observing everything around him. Edmund was known for doing a hundred paintings a day when flooded with ideas. He used to play with colors. His father got him 75 shades of crayons, which helped him carry forward his passion.
When he was an infant, he used to crawl his body with the help of his belly. It must be sounding very different, but he tried making circles on the floors. His parents should be given equal credits since they even dug a hole in their pockets and helped Edmund follow his painting passion. They even bought multi-colored chalks for him.
It is still a mystery how a child at a very tender age can have so many ideas, talents, observe, and be inclined towards arts when there is no one from the past in his proximity who has the same skill. Also, he was a keen observer.
The wonder boy passed away before he could turn seven due to kidney failure in 1983. It is shocking to note that a child with extraordinary skills just survived for seven years. He is still considered as a shining star who outshone for a concise duration.
Our existence on this planet is definitely a temporary one; we must leave our footprints behind to be remembered forever.
