How Did Miguel Secillano Become A math Whiz?

Some people in this world have something called extraordinary and one of such people is Miguel Secillano. He is an 11-year-old genius child from Central Florida. He has been recognized as a child prodigy because of his exceptional math skills at such a young age. The math whiz Miguel Secillano started showing a keen interest in mathematics at an early age and got global recognition through his intelligence.

In a recent interview with Global Child Prodigy, Miguel Secillano shares his journey of becoming a math whiz!

How Did Miguel Start Developing His Math Skills?

At the age of three years, Miguel started stacking and counting his Play-Doh. That’s when his parents recognized their son’s unique talent. At the age of 4, he began learning the basic math operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. He mastered all these operations in just two weeks. His mom was the first to identify his talent, and she supported him always.

Miguel has got no mentor for Mathematics. His dad got him some books, so he does his daily math practice from the book- Art of Problem Solving. Currently, he is studying algebra, and has completed counting, probability and some other related topics.

Hard Working & Determined – Miguel Secillano

Moguel told us that he does a little maths from the book- Art of Problem Solving everyday. Other than that, he loves programming so for that, he tries writing them down for computer science if he has time. During his way to school, he solves five math problems daily from that book and then cracks another five after coming back home. Miguel also likes to play Piano, and plays it after his school. 

The math whiz Miguel Secillano is intrigued by both computer science and mathematics. He wants to be in the computer science field, but there’s also mathematics that comes into that. He aims to help the world by making programs, simulations, and doing stuff like that.

How does Miguel feel to be a Global Child Prodigy Awardee?

Miguel Secillano won the Global Child Prodigy Award in January 2020 in the field of mathematics. He is also listed as one of the Top 100 Child Prodigies in the world. He says that he was really shocked when he got to know about his selection. It sounded so grand to him, and he feels so good to receive the award.
