“Genius is 1 percent inspiration, and 99 percent perspiration.” — Thomas Edison
Some people are born with zeal to change the world, and they don’t let their age come in the way. Tilak Mehta is a typical 8th grader at Garodia International School in Mumbai. He is just a regular teenager, but his entrepreneurial spirit sets him apart from everyone else. Tilak is a budding entrepreneur with his startup called “Paper N Parcels,” which delivers around 1200 parcels daily to their destination on the same day. He runs his business venture with exceptional energy and focus. His business venture launched him into national recognition. Tilak opened about his plans and future vision for the company in an interview with the Global Child Prodigy.
‘Paper N Parcels’ is a startup launched in 2018 by Tilak Mehta and is primarily based on a mobile application. It has more than 200 employees. Apart from it, more than 300 Dabbawalas are connected to his startup. Paper N Parcels is Tilak’s dream, and he is working very hard to take it to more significant heights in the future. It began with a vision of digitizing the end-to-end logistics and providing same-day delivery services at a reasonable price.
In no time, this venture got a great response from Mumbai residents. Due to Tilak and his team’s relentless hard work, they now have renounced companies like Metropolis, Hindustan Times, etc., on board with them. ‘Papers N Parcels’ success story is truly unique, and it got the attention of a multinational company that acquired them on Feb 23, 2020. Tilak said that their current customer base majorly includes Pathology Labs, Boutique Shops, and a Brokerage Company.
Tilak Mehta plans to have a grand launch of his company where he would have a 20 percent partnership in the Intra-City Logistics market in Mumbai and Rs. One hundred crores turnover very soon. Tilak is truly an inspiration for the youth. He believes that “Any ordinary kid curious enough to know the Why, When and What about everything can be an Entrepreneur. Even though we may face overwhelming odds in our journey, what important is to keep moving forward.”
Tilak Mehta received the Global Child Prodigy Award in January 2020 for entrepreneurship. He was also among the Top 100 Child Prodigies of the year.
The Global Child Prodigy is the world’s first child prodigy initiative. It is one of its kind organization that brings deserving children from all around the world into the spotlight.
