The national science day in India is celebrated to mark the anniversary of the ‘Ramen Effect’. Raman effect was a remarkable discovery by the great physicist CV Raman. The theory of this effect says, “whenever the light travels through a transparent material, some of the deflected light changes amplitude & wavelength“. Moreover, this discovery won him the Nobel Prize in 1930.
Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman (CV Raman) was an Indian physicist. He was popular for his work in the field of light scattering. With one of his students, KS Krishnan, he discovered the Raman effect, which was an amazing discovery.
India celebrates science day every year to raise awareness of the importance of science in our daily lives. It aims to encourage people to implement new technologies for development in the field of science.
