Who Is R Praggnanandhaa?
Rameshprabhu Praggnanandhaa is a young Chess player from Chennai, India. He has shown exceptional talent and caught the attention of millions of people. The young chess grandmaster was the winner of the World Youth Chess Championships Under-8 title in 2013. He earned the title of ‘FIDE Master’ when he was just 7. In 2015, the young genius won the Under-10 title. After that, he became the youngest international master in history, at the age of 10 years.
Three Times World Chess Champion – R Praggnanandhaa
Praggnanandhaa achieved his first grandmaster norm at the World Junior Chess Championship in November 2017 by finishing fourth with 8 points. On April 17, 2018, he gained his second norm at the Heraklion Fischer Memorial GM Norm tournament in Greece. On June 23, 2018, he achieved his third and final norm by defeating Luca Moroni in the eighth round at the Grenadine Open in Urtijëi, Italy.
He became the second-youngest person ever to achieve the rank of grandmaster. The youngest is Sergey Karjakin, who earned the title at the age of 12 years. On October 12, 2019, Praggnanandhaa won the World Youth Championships in the Under 18 section. After that, Praggnanandhaa became the second youngest to cross the 2600 Elo mark. The chess prodigy did this at the age of 14 years.
