Learning spellings can be a daunting task, but what if someone tells you that there is a six-year-old who has already competed at the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee!
The Spelling Whiz – Scripps National Spelling Bee
At the age of two, Akash Vukoti started studying and writing. He got into Mensa at three and became a member there along with his sister Amrita. Every profoundly gifted child’s dream and ambition to get into the esteemed David Institute of Talent Development, and Akash has already achieved this eminent feat.
Akash was a first-grader when he competed at the Scripps National Spelling Bee. He even competed in the 2018 and 2019 bees. Surprisingly he also qualified for the 93rd Scripps national spelling bee, which was canceled due to the coronavirus. However, this didn’t stop Akash and the other kids as they will participate in a virtual spelling bee competition organized by the Texas natives.
The most challenging word that Akash can spell is pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanokoniosis, and it has 45 letters. It is one of the longest words in the Oxford Dictionary.
Versatile Child Prodigy
Akash Vukoti is the son of Dr. Krishna M Vukoti and Chandrakala Jandyam, who relocated to Texas from Andhra Pradesh, India. Akash was featured on several TV shows such as Little Big Shots. He went to the Steve Harvey Show and got inspiration from Steve Harvey to become an actor.
“I want to become an astronaut and an actor, so as a combination of these two words, ‘astroactor’ as a term- is what I want to become when I grow up” – Akash Vukoti.
He also appeared as a guest on the Harry show in 2017. Notably, Australia’s morning show had an interview with the child prodigy. Akash participated in Dancing with the Stars:Juniors along with Kamri Peterson.
Moreover, the award-winning documentary film “Spelling The Dream” featured Akash.” He was featured in HBO and BBC Documentaries as well.
Global Child Prodigy Awardee
Akash Vukoti received the Global Child Prodigy Award from Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Dr. Kailash Sathyarthi. He was also among the Top 100 prodigies of the year. Global Child Prodigy Awards is a global initiative to educate people about the potentials of a child’s extraordinary talent.
