Ava and Amber Snell: Twin Archers Redefining Strength, Precision, and Perseverance

1 min read

Greatness sometimes begins with a single moment of curiosity. For Ava and Amber Snell, identical twin archers, that moment arrived when they first picked up a bow during a casual archery session. What started as a simple sport soon became a shared purpose—one built on discipline, resilience, and an unbreakable sisterly bond. Today, Ava and Amber stand as inspiring examples of how passion, when nurtured with determination, can evolve into excellence.

The twins discovered archery in 2019 during a deeply challenging time, as their mother was undergoing cancer treatment. Archery became more than an activity—it was a source of healing, focus, and strength. Excelling initially in barebow, they went on to break national records and represent their archery society at major tournaments. Their bold transition to recurve archery marked another milestone, demanding refined technique, mental strength, and unwavering commitment.

Amber’s journey took on additional complexity in 2022 with her diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes. Rather than slowing her down, this challenge strengthened her resolve. With the support of advanced medical technology, family encouragement, and her own determination, Amber returned to competition stronger than ever. Together, the twins have earned national titles and represented their country on international stages—each arrow symbolizing resilience and belief.

Ava and Amber’s daily lives reflect balance and discipline. They train four to five times a week, combining elite athletic preparation with academic focus. Guided by an Olympic-level coach, they continually refine their form through both in-person and online sessions. Beyond the range, they remain grounded—supporting younger archers at their club, participating in school activities, and cherishing time with family.

More than elite athletes, Ava and Amber are role models. They lead with empathy, supporting one another through medical and personal challenges while encouraging inclusivity in sport. Amber’s health journey has sparked important conversations about accessibility and support systems, showing that with the right mindset and care, setbacks can become strengths.

Their ambitions reach far into the future: competing at the Youth Olympics, winning international tournaments, and one day standing on the Olympic podium. Yet, what truly sets them apart is not just their medals, but their humility, resilience, and teamwork. Carrying the memory of their late cousin Zach as inspiration, every target they hit becomes a tribute to love, perseverance, and family.

Being named Global Child Prodigy Award Winners 2025 is a deeply emotional milestone for Ava and Amber. For them, the recognition celebrates sisterhood, courage, and the belief that when you aim high—together—anything is possible.

The target is only the end result. The real focus is the process. — Brady Ellison
