Lydian Nadhaswaram the Winner of the World’s Best, is an emerging musical prodigy from India. He started playing drums at the age of two and started playing the Piano at nine. Today, at the age of fifteen, he has a long list of accomplishments under his name. Lydian won a 1 million dollar prize at the World’s Best Global Talent Contest and was launched into international fame. He made an appearance on the famous Ellen Show and has been a guest on many others. He also had the opportunity to meet the renowned musician A.R Rahman after his win at the World’s Best.
Lydian got candid in an interview with the Global Child Prodigy Awards. He opened up about his education, future vision, and his influences.
Lydian is in the ninth grade and is currently being homeschooled. According to him, homeschooling is the most suitable option for him as it provides him with the flexibility to focus on music. His schedule differs every day as it depends upon which piece he is practicing on. At the time of the interview, he was doing a part on the Piano for which he practices for 5-6 hours per day. He is focused on his education and studies whenever he gets the time. Home is the best environment to learn for Lydian as his father also teaches him. His father is a composer and plays various instruments. He is close to his father and gets all the support he needs from him.
Lydian said that he would do so if his father asks him to pursue further education in music. However, currently, his biggest aspiration is to collaborate with Jacob Collier. Jacob Collier is an incredible musician from London who has won 4 Grammy Awards and plays more than 15 instruments.
At the young age of 15, Lydian is composing for a film called Barroz, directed by Mr. Mohanlal. This is his first debut as a music composer. This opportunity presented itself to Lydian after he won the World’s Best. As the film was related to children, his father also assented to the production team’s offer, and currently, they are working on the music for the film.
Lydian received the Global Child Prodigy Award in January 2020 for music. He was also among the Top 100 Child Prodigies of the year.
According to Lydian, it was an honor to be among the Top 100 child prodigies of the world, and he feels very happy to be a Global Child Prodigy Awardee.
