While most four-year-old are busy reciting poems, Sreya Jayadeep started singing, which brought her worldwide recognition and acclaim.
This 14-year-old is a musical whiz kid, whose long list of impressive accolades speak for her. She began training in music at a very young age.
She says, “The most memorable moment of my life was when I first saw my favorite music director, M Jayachandran, in person and he hugged me after my performance and gave me a chocolate. It is a moment I will never forget.”
In 2013, she was hailed as the Surya Singer of Surya TV and gave her debut performance in a Malayalam movie, Weeping boy, as a playback singer. In 2014, she earned the title of Sun TV – Sun Singer not only this Her song, Minungum Minnaminuge in the Malayalam film, Oppam, has received over 70 million views. She has had the chance to work alongside almost all the leading music directors. She has even performed in various Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada films.
Apart from demonstrating an enthralling passion for music, Sreya is also an environmentally conscious youth. She is a part of the project Harithasree, the Kerala Government environmental action mission. She is also in the National Health Mission’s Rubella Vaccine initiative and Mathrubhumi’s water conservation project.
Jayadeep also acknowledges the immense support that she finds in her parents, peers, friends, and teachers. Such incredible encouragement has allowed this talented kid to balance her academics alongside her musical career.
Sreya is also a Global Child Prodigy Awardee, 2020 for her excellence and brilliance in singing and music.
