“Talent hits a target no one else can hit.” – Arthur Schopenhauer
A 6-year-old girl might be too young for school, but the Russian girl has already made a name for herself as a snowboarding prodigy at the age of 6. Vasilisa Ermakova has become an internet sensation because of her fantastic snowboarding skills. She is just like any other girl who loves to sing, draw, and fight with snowballs, but her extraordinary skills make her different.
Vasilisa started snowboarding at the age of three and has already made her name as a snowboarding prodigy. Vasilisa’s father Anton was also a competitive snowboarder, so he trained his daughter for the extreme sport.
Her mother Natalia says that Vasilisa wants to teach every day and asks for snow even in summer. The child prodigy spends five hours a day training down the slopes outside Moscow.
Ermakova has broken many national records in the recent past. The little girl broke the Russian record for the fastest descend at 48 kilometers per hour in her age group. It could have easily won her a Guinness Book World Records title, but Guinness refused to enter Vasilisa’s name in the record books citing her young age.
She can spin 540 degrees during a jump and do a perfect 360-degree turn while jumping off a snowbank. Vasilisa’s father wants her daughter to compete in X-Games, which is an advanced competition for snowboarders. The snowboarding prodigy meanwhile intends to earn a lot of medals no matter in which event she competes. She has caught a lot of attention, Vasilisa also enjoys a huge fan base with 36,000 followers. She also made a significant sports brand sponsor fund her training through social media.
The Global Child Prodigy Awards is the first and only award ceremony globally to recognize talents from various countries and backgrounds. The list of GCP awards includes children having extreme competency in their field of interest, such as painting, modelling, writing, entrepreneurship, martial art, music, social work, etc.
Vasilisa Ermakova won the Global Child Prodigy award in January 2020 for snowboarding. Her name was among the top 100 prodigies of the world. She was delighted to receive the award as it was one of her most significant achievements.
