“No one is born a great cook, one learns by doing.” – Julia Child
One of most people’s favorite activities is going to restaurants because they love to taste the best dishes. International Chef day 2020 is for chefs that work behind the scenes. It is one of the best opportunities people can learn how to cook and connect with chefs. It’s also an excellent opportunity to teach kids how to cook and inspire them to become chefs. International Chefs Day began back in 2004 by esteemed chef Dr. Bill Gallagher. At the time, he was the president of WorldChefs, a network of over 100 chef associations.
The Young Master Chefs
Almost everyone can cook as they grow older, but being a chef at 10-15 years of age is unusual. At a very young age, these kids have managed to win the hearts of people worldwide through their cooking skills. Keep reading to know more about young chefs!
1. Nihal Raj
The dreams of children are unique. Nihal’s dream and vision were quickly encouraged and nurtured by his mom. Mostly known as ‘Little Chef Kicha,’ Nihal Raj is just like other kids with extraordinary inborn skills for cooking. Since childhood, he has always seen experimenting in the kitchen, grasping the ingredients’ names, and observing his mom’s cooking skills. Kicha’s unbelievable passion and determination turned him into an instant cook.
His very own first creation, “Mickey Mouse Mango Ice Cream,” was simply out of this world and incredibly delicious. It caught a glimpse of so many people when he posted this Recipe on his YouTube Channel. Facebook gained non-exclusive rights to his signature ‘Mickey Mouse Mango Ice Cream’ and paid him $2,000. The 10-year-old child prodigy donated a part of his earnings to autistic children in Kerala. His big idea is to “cook in space.”
“I want to invent an oven that will work in space, and I wish to bake with my astronaut outfit on,” says Kicha.

2. Alex Czajka
We’d be lying if we said we hadn’t burnt a cake; however, young Alex Czajka has achieved this feat. This 14-year-old chef has already found a great passion for cooking. He started when he was a mere 12-year-old. At that time, he was studying in eighth grade, and he used to bake almost daily. Czajka’s inspiration and desire for cooking originated from his grandmother, who was a great cook. Alex’s experience with his grandmother motivated him.
As he says, “When I was approximately six or seven, my grandma and I would always bake a carrot cake, cookies — and especially cream puffs and pies.”
The cooking prodigy also finds cooking to be a way to remember and honor his grandmother’s talent. It is inspiring to see the young boy honoring his grandmother’s memory in such a loving yet straightforward manner. He intends to pass on this talent through the family as he says, “I’ll pass it on for her. I’ll make sure that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren can bake.”
