When most kids his age were beginning to learn basic words, Akash Vukoti became the youngest boy ever to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee‘s history at the age of six years. Today, at the age of eleven, Akash has several accolades under his belt. He was inducted into the high IQ society, Mensa at the age of three and became a Davidson young scholar at five. In 2016, he won his San Angelo Area Regional Spelling Bee Championship. He has garnered international fame with the Netflix documentary film, ‘Spelling the Dream,’ released in over 190 countries.

The Trick With Words – Akash Vukoti

The young genius Akash Vukoti has many tips and tricks to learn and memorize words. He tries to learn about the words in detail and then see how they are spelled. He tries to understand the root and meaning of the words. Akash pays special attention to why the words are spelled the way they are. He said that knowing the importance of the words is especially important because there is a distinct section of vocabulary in the Spelling Bee. The Spelling Bee Champion also searches for words in the dictionary to find their origin and history. Although not many words challenge Akash, however, he finds it harder to memorize words with no context.

According to Akash, passion is an essential thing to have while learning new words. Akash was interested in words at the very young age of two, and he believes that the reason he is good at spellings is that he has always liked its idea. He believes that everyone should follow their passion.

Way forward

The child prodigy has big dreams for his future. His immediate goal is to be the Scripps National Spelling Bee Champion. In the end, he wants to become a TV show host because he likes being in front of the camera and presenting to an audience. He also wants to do some social service, and he hopes that maybe someday he will become the United States president.
