“To uncover your true potential you must first find your own limits and then you have to have the courage to blow past them.” – Picabo Street.
No matter how old you are now. You are never too young or too old to go after what you want, and Chase Carrera proves it. He is a 12-year-old soccer player from Lynnfield, Massachusetts. The child prodigy is indeed determined towards his passion and works very hard to achieve his goals.
Efforts & Hard Work | Chase Carrera
Carrera says, “I’ve never really felt that I want to stop soccer, I’ve never really felt why am I doing this right now when I could be doing something else, I always want to train and keep doing it more which I think is really important.”
The most significant thing that separates Carrera from other kids is his work ethic, dedication, and hard work. Most young athletes practice after school hours or during the holidays, but Chase wakes up at 5:30 a.m. every day to practice soccer before school starts, and he goes to the gym three times a week. Also, he practices every day after school and takes part in competitions or tournaments on the weekends. Putting in this much effort can hurt professional athletes, but Carrera isn’t worried that there is nothing else he’d rather be doing. Carrera tries to model his game after three players: Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Paulo Dybala.
“They all shield the ball well and can create for their teammates. Messi motivates me the most, I think he’s a great player and just loves the way he plays, he’s technical on the ball, his mental game is great and I dream to someday be better than him.” Said Carerra.
Self Made Prodigy | Chase Carrera
“I have worked for everything I achieved and I am not slowing down.”
The soccer prodigy has been featured on an episode of No Days Off, a series produced by Whistle’s YouTube Channel. This show features all the kinds of athletes with extraordinary talent and spirit.
Chase has managed to catch the attention of people worldwide through his excellent skills. He already has more than 53K followers on Instagram, and his videos on YouTube have over 200K views. Carrera has taken all of this fame in stride; the only thing he is focused on is his sport.
Winner of Global Child Prodigy Awards 2020

Future Aspirations | Chase Carrera
“Everything I do, I do to get better and become the best version of myself.”, says Chase
In the future, Carrera dreams of playing for either Barcelona or Manchester United. Also, he wants to go to the USMNT by the time he is 20 years old. It is hard to imagine a 12-year-old kid with the work ethic of Carrera. If he applies himself like this, he will surely be successful at anything he chooses to do.
